Director of Ireland Library and Theological Librarian
The Archbishop Ireland Memorial Library continues the legacy of the original seminary library founded by John Ireland in 1896. Beginning with 4,000 volumes, the library gradually expanded to its current location in 1950 and now serves diverse groups of patrons, including the larger community of the archdiocese itself.
The mission of the Archbishop Ireland Memorial Library is to serve the Saint Paul Seminary School of Divinity by providing graduate-level theological research materials, reference assistance, and library instruction services that advance the intellectual formation of Roman Catholic seminarians, religious and lay students preparing to serve the Church. The library also serves University of St. Thomas undergraduate students and departments, the greater University of Saint Thomas community, and the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis.
